There is another way to portray women. With dignity! Our PAGE 50 is a daily reminder of the individuality and diversity of women. Every day we will celebrate their wise, enigmatic and engaging faces through the camera lens. This approach is in direct contrast to the way in which the media so often look at women.
For 50 working days, t4w will be profiling women from around the world, all currently living in Wiltshire in the UK. A gallery of photos will be added to day by day, from which you can click through to a full page photo and the woman’s ‘Vital Statistics’: first name, country of origin, occupation and a personal insight.
Each woman is shown in monochrome wearing a white top – the focus is always on the face. The project will finish with a very moving completed gallery of all 50 images.
t4w has teamed up with talented French photographer Sabine Coe:
What photography has done is to allow me to see the world clearly and crisply in spite of my disability [Sabine is blind in one eye]. For me that’s been a wonderful transformation. It shows that my perspective of the world, especially of women, is valuable and creative.
The motivation behind this project?
t4w believes that the next generations of women – your daughters, sisters, granddaughters, friends – cannot be what they cannot see. t4w values the whole woman…mind body and soul.
